WHAT IS THE EAST OF THE RIVER REGIONAL SOCIALIZATION HUB?
The fastest growing segment of the population are persons 65 years and older. It is projected that by 2035 there will be more people over the age of 65 in the United States than under 18. Because of the many advances in medicine people are living longer. ERFSC wants to ensure that people 60 years and older have the opportunity to age in place. With oversight from the Department of Aging and Community Living (DACL) ERFSC operates the East of the River Regional Socialization Hub. The Hub provides opportunities for recreation, socialization and nutritional services in Wards 1, 7, & 8. Our department is able to maintain a healthy 60 and over population with a quality of life that affords them their independence during their golden years. What do East of the River Regional Socialization Hub do ? The mission of East of the River Regional Socialization Hub is to ensure that seniors living East of the River in Wards 1, 7, & 8 are aware of/and receive services in an inclusive and welcoming environment to decrease isolation, improve nutrition food access, and promote physical and recreational activities.
